Curv®, a revolutionary suitcase material

• Samsonite patented Curv®, which was developed for the brand by engineers in Germany. It consists of multilayer woven threads of high-molecular-weight polypropylene that form a strong compound when hot-molded. Thanks to this structure, it looks like ordinary plastic while having the appearance and properties of fabric at the same time. This means the material can be crumpled or even run over by a car, and it returns to its original shape.
• At the same time, it has enough elasticity and rigidity to hold its shape. You have probably noticed that the designers gave all Curv® suitcases a three-dimensional pattern, for example in the form of a shell, ribs, or vertical or horizontal elements. These are what help the suitcase flexibly keep its shape, and thanks to them the material does not need to be thick.
• A suitcase like this does not need a frame; it is self-supporting and therefore very light. In general, all elements of such luggage are ultralight. For example, the pull-out handles are made of super-strong, lightweight aircraft-grade duralumin.
• All Samsonite suitcases with Curv® are built so that any element, including the wheels, handles and locks, can be replaced within a few minutes. This is because the mounting screws are easily accessible from inside the luggage.
