Suitcases — USB port 15 items

Suitcases with USB charging are chosen when you need to charge a phone, tablet or headphones at the airport, at the station or while waiting for a flight. The external port lets you plug in a cable without opening the suitcase or taking a power bank out of an inner pocket.

The main difference between this kind of model and a regular suitcase is not its own energy supply, but a convenient connection point on the shell. That's why, before buying, it's important to understand how charging works in the specific model and what you need to bring with you.

A port on the shell is not a built-in battery

Most such designs use a separate portable battery. It is placed inside and connected to an internal cable or connector, and the external USB port passes power to the gadget. The port itself does not store energy and does not charge a device without a connected power bank.

Charge a compatible power bank before the trip.

Put it in the designated pocket and connect it to the suitcase's internal cable.

Connect your phone with your own cable to the external USB port.

When charging is done, disconnect the device, and take out the battery before checking the luggage.

With this setup you can charge a phone, tablet, wireless headphones and other compatible devices. Speed depends not only on the suitcase, but also on the power bank's capabilities, the port type, the cable and the gadget itself. A USB connector by itself does not mean fast charging is supported.

What to check on the model page

First, check the external connector: USB-A, USB-C or a combination of the two. Then check the type of internal connection and compatibility with your battery. Models differ in port location, pocket access and allowed power specifications, so the same cable setup can't automatically be applied to the whole catalog.

Contents of the package are a separate point. A power bank is often bought separately, and the package may include only a built-in cable or an adapter. If the page doesn't state this clearly, it's best to confirm the contents before ordering.

Why size S is chosen most often

A small suitcase with USB is convenient exactly where charging is needed most often: at the boarding gate, in the security line or on the way to the hotel. An S-size model stays with its owner, so you can use the external port without unpacking your luggage.

For carry-on luggage, dimensions of about 55 × 40 × 20 cm are often considered, but you shouldn't rely on the S label alone. Compare the full external dimensions including wheels and handles, the weight of the empty suitcase and the rules of the specific airline. The expansion zipper, when open, can also change the depth.

Power banks and flying

A power bank counts as a spare lithium battery and is carried in carry-on luggage, not in checked baggage. If a suitcase with a charger is checked or taken at the boarding gate, the battery must be removed. Before the flight, check the airline's restrictions on battery capacity and the conditions for carrying it.

How to choose a suitcase with a charger

After checking the USB setup, compare suitcases by your trip scenario: external dimensions, weight, shell material, capacity and interior organization. For carry-on luggage, exact dimensions and weight are the priority; for checked luggage, the ability to quickly take out the power bank before check-in.

At TRAVEL CASE you can pick a suitcase with a USB port for short trips or checked luggage, compare the specifications of the models and confirm the contents of the package. Orders are available with delivery across Ukraine.
